A New Tablesetting for 2015 ...Something Blue ... Something New

Here is a new table setting, with some familiar blue plates and some new napkin rings.  The napkin rings were a gift from a friend who bought them in Brazil from an artisan.  They look like paper but are really made of metal.  Very unique.  Each rose is a different color.

I hope you'll be inspired to set a pretty table.  Do something romantic, even if it takes a little more effort.

Thanksgiving This Year

What a beautiful table! 

Replete with grandmother's old china, new, engraved glasses and embroidered napkins.  Most interesting are the individual floral arrangements in glass bowls with an orange calla lily hanging over the lip of the bowl, and the unique place cards.  Below is a close-up shot.

Hurry up and take the photo, we're dying to eat all this good food!!

Dinner with David, Aric and Heather -- New Orleans' Style

A beautifully set table with lots of Fleur-de-Lis themed decor.  Delicious pork chops, andouille gravy, mashed potatoes and fresh spinach with onions!  Who could ask for better?  Great company and a few rounds of "Hearts" after the dinner dishes were cleared away.  And then... drum roll please... chocolate pie, still hot out of the oven!  Oh, heavenly food and wonderful company!

We had a real feminine birthday celebration for Heather's birthday, complete with rose dishes and raspberry filled white cake.

 I learned how to make these rose-shaped napkins on a trip to Mexico, when we stayed in a fabulous home with all kinds of services that we would never enjoy in our everyday life.
